On Sat Jun 30 23:59:55 2007 the Hadron Elektron Ring Anlage (HERA) at Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESY) made its final run. I was delighted to be present in Hamburg, Germany at the celebration on Fri 29 Jun 2009, and to be in the control room that evening to see HERA in operation one last time. Congratulations to all at DESY and to all international collaborators on your achievements, and a special thanks to the -MPY- accelerator physics group for any enjoyable years working together.
